Although this first snowfall occurred a few weeks ago, I haven’t had a chance to post the photos. The snow didn’t last long and it was pretty much gone 2 days later, but it was beautiful while it lasted. It’s especially magical right after it’s fallen, when it’s still pure and untouched. I love freshly fallen snow – there’s something so peaceful about it, and watching it snow always makes me feel like a little kid again.
And like a little kid, I’m definitely dreaming of a white Christmas.
My very favorite thing about snow is the silence … when you wake up in the morning and it is achingly quiet and you just know there is a blanket of snow on the ground. Of course by March it doesn’t seem quite so beautiful, but the first snow is always magical!
Great photos! 🙂

Thanks for your always lovely comments, Paige! 🙂
There really is something so magical about snow and I just love the silence as it falls and once it carpets everything so beautifully… I agree by March it’s time to get into spring, but at least the snow is beautiful! 🙂

I lived in Wisconsin as a little girl so snow was usual for us. Then when I was 8 we started moving around the world and it became a lot more rare in the countries we lived in. I was hoping to get more white Christmases in New England, but that hasn’t quite worked out so far. The first winter we had record breaking snow, but it started in January; 2011 we had practically no snow at all, it was one of the mildest winters on record…I’m waiting to see what 2012 brings! 😉
Snow really is magical though…I hope you guys get some on your side of the Atlantic too! 🙂

Those photos are beautiful (I’ve already been over to your blog and left you a comment there too – but I thought I’d repeat myself to emphasize how much I liked them! 🙂 )
Thanks for your comment – we’re definitely all in agreement about the magic of the first snowfall! 🙂

Believe me, there isn’t much to be jealous of – these photos are misleading (not intentionally, of course). 😉 That snow was gone almost as quickly as it arrived, and it doesn’t look like we’re expecting more any time soon 😦 I wish we’d have some on Christmas – I haven’t had a white christmas in a long, long time! Thanks so much for commenting, and happy holidays to you too! 🙂
